London's Eel Men return hot on the heels from their debut album with the new ‘Glass Hammers EP.’
Known for their kinetic live performances, Eel Men have steadily built a reputation through relentless European touring and raucous homecoming shows. Their 2025 self-released debut ‘Stop It! Do Something.’ captured a band honing tight, angular guitars and restless rhythms against the malaise of the everyday. Drawing on more Eno-esque production sensibilities and a loose, groove-led approach, on this new material the band open up their sound into something more expansive, slinkier, and rhythm-driven.
The 'Glass Hammers EP' sets the tone for their expansive second album.
"London’s Eel Men push aside chasing BBC sounds du jour for a serrated punk pummel that feels indebted to the spittle and sliced riffs of the ‘70s class. They spar guitar slashes and with an undeniably lived-in cool. They’re the kind of band that knows the best punk needs enough slink in the rhythm section to move bodies around the sweat-drenched room" - RAVENSINGSTHEBLUES, 2025
"Having clear influences in your sound while also sounding fresh and unique seems like a bar most bands wish to reach, yet it’s often way harder to clear than it seems, even though, again, it’s kind of what every band sets out to do. This is all killer, no filler, but tracks like “Archetype” are a great example of all these little descriptors synchronising like some Voltron of good taste. Perhaps the release perfectly coincides with springtime starting to bloom, but this is an easy and early candidate for one of this year’s best." - MAXIMUM ROCKNROLL, 2025
